This is a planning estimate based on the times and minutes you enter. It does not set a clinical standard, interpret an employer policy, or make a medical or billing decision. Use the definitions and targets that apply to your workplace.

How the pace calculation works

Current productivity = treatment minutes completed ÷ paid minutes elapsed

Target treatment minutes = planned paid shift minutes × productivity target

Remaining pace = treatment minutes still needed ÷ paid minutes remaining

The calculator subtracts unpaid breaks from paid time. “On track” compares completed treatment minutes with the target amount expected by the current point in the planned paid shift; “ahead” and “behind” describe the math, not a judgment about workload.

Example: checking pace midway through a shift

For an 8:00 AM–4:30 PM shift with a 30-minute unpaid break and an 85% target, the planned paid denominator is 480 minutes and the target is 408 treatment minutes. Enter the treatment minutes completed at the current time to see the remaining billable minutes and the pace needed for the rest of the shift.

Frequently asked questions

What does a therapy productivity pace calculator measure?

It compares treatment minutes completed with a target productivity percentage and a planned paid shift. It also estimates the treatment minutes and pace needed for the remaining paid time.

What does “on track” mean here?

It means the treatment minutes entered are approximately at or above the amount implied by the target at that point in the planned shift. The result is a neutral time-planning comparison, not an employment or clinical standard.

How are unpaid breaks handled?

Breaks already taken reduce paid minutes elapsed. Breaks still expected reduce the planned paid denominator and leave less paid time for the remaining target.

Can I use this for billing or compliance decisions?

No. The tool does not determine payer rules, documentation requirements, employer policy, or medical necessity. Check the applicable policy and source records separately.
